In 2017 our part time regulatory manager, left and we now have a full time one. I feel we are utilising manufacturing to the full, it has made it easier for our new manager to work with the new ISO13485 2016, and also to set up procedures and paperwork that we need for full traceability. It also allows us to run the programme in line with our QA manual.
I am not sure what the cash saving would be, but we have increased productivity as it’s not as time consuming as our previous system. I also think that because of the way Manufacturing Controller works it has alleviated mistakes, we still run an excel sheet alongside for our batch numbers and GRN numbers. This is purely as we have a lot of products and users and it’s a quick visual check but really is not necessary.
We have also noticed less errors on the monthly stock take as delivery notes now have, Lot Number, GRN and location on them, so the stock take is no longer a thing to be dreaded and spending hours going through where something has gone with only excel to help! If there is an error you can easily look at the GRN in question and quickly see where the mistake has happened.
Since having Sage Manufacturing we have also transferred our Sage 50 accounts support to Red Business as if there is occasionally a problem, they can sort both out for us.
