The Directors, Wayne and Florence Hillman established Insight Medical Products Limited in May 2000. From their base in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, Insight has become a highly respected supplier of good value, high quality products to the healthcare market. Insight now has its own in-house manufacturing facility with a fully accredited cleanroom facility for manufacturing, assembly and packaging products, which comply to the Medical Device Directive. Red Business Systems assisted Insight Medical in the implementation of their Sage 50 Batch Controller system in 2013.

1. How did Sage 50 Batch Controller assist Insight Medical?

Florence Hillman – Sage Batch Controller greatly assisted our company in the Purchasing, Costing Manufacturing and Traceability function we must undertake.

Sage 50 Batch Controller allowed the company to grow, without greatly increasing staff numbers in the area associated with Manufacturing Control. It also allowed us to demonstrate to medical customers the component and works orders traceability they demand.

2. How have you found the support provided by Red Business Systems?

We have always been impressed with the support provided by Red Business Systems. Phil and his team are experts on the applications they provide and are always willing to help. It was not long until Red also supported our Sage Accounts and Act! Application.

Red also work well with our IT Company and very aften liaise with them directly saving me time.

3. Why did you choose Cim50 as the replacement to Sage 50 Manufacturing?

It was just the natural choice. Red discussed the application with us and to demonstrate the software performed a test migration of our existing Sage 50 Batch Controller data. This allowed us to view our data within Cim50, giving us confidence of the application and the migration.

The Migration Process

Red liaised with Insight Medical IT Company to install Cim50 and performed a test migration. Where possible this was done out of hours to minimise down time.
The Cim50 test dataset was used for Testing, Training and to create any bespoke reports or layouts.
Training was performed on site with additional ad hoc training sessions performed remotely. This helps to reduce the impact on the business, while ensuring users were confident in Cim50 before going live.
Again to reduce downtime and disruption, Red performed the live migration overnight and were on site the following morning to hand hold.
In total 5 Professional Service days were required from Red Business Systems, with limited downtime or disruption to Insight Medical
